Digital Preservation Service for the National Digital Library awarded ISO 27001 certification

ISO 27001 certification for information security management will now cover also CSC's Digital Preservation Service for the National Digital Library. The service was audited by Inspecta Sertifionti Ltd.

The ISO 27001 is a comprehensive international standard for information security management.  To achieve this certification an organisation must comply with the 114 mandatory requirements for security controls. These controls must be in use, must be known, must be documented and approved by the management.

CSC has earlier achieved the ISO 27001 certification for ICT platforms and for its data centres in Kajaani and Espoo.

"To preserve our national digital cultural heritage we need well designed and organized systems and processes. This certificate is a good proof that we are on right track while implementing Digital Preservation Service for the National Digital Library.", says Mr. Kimmo Koivunen, Development Manager at CSC.

"The security requirements have been implemented very well in CSC's preservation services both in form of policies and operational procedures, this is our first directly customer facing service which is now included in the security certification", says Mr. Urpo Kaila, Head of Security at CSC.
