(b. 1967), D.Sc (Econ), CSC Board Member 2026-

Ari Hirvonen is the Chief Digital Officer and an Adjunct Professor (Docent) at the University of Jyväskylä. He has extensive experience in developing higher education–related companies and in strategic leadership. Previously, he worked at the largest IT services company in the Nordic countries, including serving as Group Chief Technology Officer with responsibility for technology strategy and large-scale digital transformation programmes. Hirvonen has served as Chair of FUCIO, the network of Finnish university CIOs, and remains an active member of the network. He has long-standing international leadership experience and a strong professional network across the research and education sectors.

Member of the Steering Group of the Digivisio 2030 programme; Member of the Customer Advisory Board of HigherEd Hub Finland Oy; Member of the Digitalization Committee of the Central Finland Chamber of Commerce.
