PRACE Autumn School familiarised international students and postdoctoral researchers with modern GPU-accelerated supercomputers

The PRACE Autumn School 2021 brought together undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral researchers in different disciplines. One of the highlights of the school was the visit to CSC’s data center in Kajaani, the home of one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world: LUMI. On nuclear waste disposal, computationally

CSC and Posiva Ltd have collaborated to study the permafrost-evolution scenario in the future in Olkiluoto area, where the world's first nuclear waste disposal site is currently being mined. CSC offered to Posiva Puhti supercomputer’s computation capacity and Elmer software and gave consulting services to CoSci LLC, a US-based company working for Posiva.
