RDA – Research Data Alliance
Funding source: H2020, the U.S. Government (NSF & NIST) and the Australian Government
Project duration: 1.3.2018 – 31.5.2020 (RDA 4 project)
Project website: www.rd-alliance.org
What we are doing:
The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is a global bottom-up initiative building the technical and social bridges for data sharing and exchange, to address grand challenges and accelerate data driven innovation worldwide.
RDA responds to the above needs, through gathering participants from different countries and profiles and tackling a wide range of data challenges through its voluntary focused Working Groups and exploratory Interest Groups. With over 6,100 members from 130 countries RDA gathers individuals, organizations and policy makers representing multiple industries and disciplines, to jointly create best practices and tools for data movement across borders, sectors and disciplines.
CSC is one of the 9 national RDA nodes, facilitating the update of RDA outputs in Finland and ensuring interoperability with national work on open science and research. The project increases Finland's visibility in creation of the global infrastructure for data, and ensures continuity and usability of the standards used by Finnish researchers.
