Blender is free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline: modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, video editing and 2D animation. This course is an introduction to Blender 2.8, focusing on features useful for scientists, such as rendering meshes exported from scientific applications, and automating tasks by scripting. The course consists of lectures and hands-on exercises.

Participants are encouraged to communicate their particular Blender interests and use cases to the organizers beforehand.

Learning outcome
After the course the participants should be able to import and render meshes from other applications, manipulate and animate objects with Blender, and write simple scripts to automate Blender tasks.

Prerequisities
Basic knowledge about Blender's interface would help in the hands-on sessions.
