
CLARIN
CLARIN is a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) established in 2012 that supports research based on language resources by providing tools, services, and data. CLARIN aims to support data-driven research and promote a multilingual European Research Area. Some of CLARIN's services include the Virtual Language Observatory (VLO), which is a search interface for discovering language resources, and the Language Resource Switchboard, which assists users in selecting appropriate language processing tools for their data. These, among CLARIN's other tools, are designed to enhance the accessibility and interoperability of language data and tools across institutional and national boundaries.
CLARIN in governed by a board of directors, but the initiatives relies on he active participation of the national consortia. CSC is a consortium member of CLARIN's Finnish consortium, FIN-CLARIN, that is directed by the University of Helsinki. CSC is also one of FIN-CLARIN's nodes and provides some of FIN-CLARIN's services (such as the Kielipankki). In addition, Martin Matthiesen from CSC is since 2020 the chair of the CLARIN technical committee (TCC).
