Quantum Computing with PennyLane on LUMI

PennyLane provides an open-source framework for quantum computing and quantum machine learning.

Time: Tuesday 28 Nov 2023 16:00 Helsinki time / 15:00 CET
Place: Online

PennyLane is an open-source software framework for quantum machine learning, quantum chemistry, and quantum computing. In this workshop, you will learn how to use PennyLane in the LUMI supercomputing environment.

Agenda

In this training, participants will learn how to run quantum computing simulations on the LUMI system, using the PennyLane framework. Key concepts like differentiable quantum programming, quantum variational circuits, and the fundamentals of quantum machine learning will be discussed. Through hands-on exercises, the attendees will learn how to use PennyLane’s features to solve quantum computing problems while leveraging the power of the LUMI supercomputer.

Target Audience

Anyone interested in exploring quantum computing and quantum machine learning. The event is open to academia and industry alike.

Prerequisites

The participants should have basic Python experience and a high-level (basic) understanding of qubits and quantum circuits. No additional quantum computing or quantum programming experience is required. Some general knowledge of classical optimization concepts is useful but not required.

Speaker

Catalina Albornoz, Quantum Community Manager, Xanadu
