Digital Preservation Coalition

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC), established in 2002, is a is a community for digital preservation expert organizations. The DPC is dedicated to ensuring the long-term preservation of digital materials, and in addition to sharing best practices, the DPC enables members to develop skills, and advocate for effective policies that support the enduring accessibility of digital content. The DPC collaborates with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national libraries, universities, corporations, and government bodies.

The organization works towards creating an informed public and institutional policy environment conducive to digital preservation efforts. It offers opportunities for members to acquire and enhance competencies necessary to tackle preservation challenges, ensuring that workforces are both competent and responsive. Additionally, the DPC provides resources such as the Digital Preservation Handbook and the Rapid Assessment Model, guiding institutions in implementing effective preservation strategies.
