LUMI AI Factory Service Center

The LUMI AI Factory Service Center (LUMI AIF Service Center) project is part of the broader LUMI AI Factory initiative that integrates world-class computing, top talent and high-value datasets to accelerate AI innovation in Finland and across Europe. This ecosystem leverages the current LUMI supercomputer but is gearing up for the upcoming LUMI-AI system and the AI-optimised quantum experimental platform LUMI-IQ. 

The LUMI AIF Service Center will provide a comprehensive service infrastructure that empowers start-ups, SMEs, researchers, and other public and private users to develop innovative European AI models and applications. The portfolio of services is intended primarily for research, development and innovation (RDI) purposes and will range from basic technical user support to sophisticated and tailored AI consultations. Ultimately, the offered services are foreseen to help accelerate Europe’s digital transformation, driving innovation, growth and competitiveness in the global AI landscape. 

The LUMI AIF Service Center consortium consists of members from Finland, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Norway and Poland. CSC is leading the project as well as all of the service center core activities. This includes leading operational activities such as facilitating AI expert support for e.g. machine learning operations (MLOps) and AI methods; developing, implementing and supporting advanced AI software solutions; assisting users in accessing and managing the data they need for their projects as well as business management of the offerings in both the short and long term. 

In addition, CSC is leading a range of customer interaction activities including delivering a comprehensive range of AI-related training and education opportunities; managing the customer process and raising awareness on the available resources. Lastly, CSC is ensuring that a strong collaboration between the LUMI AI Factory and other prominent national, European and international ecosystems and networks is established.

The LUMI AI Factory Service Center is funded jointly by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking under Grant Agreement No 101234208 and the participating states Finland, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Norway and Poland.
