Tears of happiness! 10 years of Digital Preservation Services

CSC – IT Center for Science, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture, invites you to a seminar celebrating the 10th anniversary of Finland’s national Digital Preservation Services.

The Digital Preservation Services – the Digital Preservation Service for Cultural Heritage and the Fairdata Digital Preservation Service for Research Data – ensure that digital materials remain preserved and usable for centuries to come. The long-term availability of cultural heritage and research materials is part of our national memory, ensuring for its part the foundation for digital civilization. The first materials were stored in the Digital Preservation Service for Cultural Heritage in 2015, and in the Fairdata Digital Preservation Service for Research Data in 2019.

The seminar will bring together experts and stakeholders from the fields of cultural heritage, research and digital services for a joint discussion. We ‘ll look back at the development of the Digital Preservation Services – and above all, toward the future.

The seminar will be held in Finnish.
