Digital Twins for climate, biodiversity and Earth System modeling

Currently, in Europe there are many research activities on developing digital twins to support decision-making on climate change, extreme weather and biodiversity loss.

CSC is organising a hybrid Digital Twin seminar around the theme climate, biodiversity and Earth Systems. The goal of this seminar is to bring together researchers already contributing to the development of these digital twins, as well as researchers not yet familiar with digital twins but interested to learn how their models or observations could feed into digital twin development.

Keynote speakers:

  • Roadmap for building a virtual research architecture suppporing digital twins for water management by Elizabeth Carter, Research Coordinator of the Digital Water flagship at the University of Oulu
  • Aerosols in Digital Twins of Climate by Harri Kokkola, Research Professor, Finnish Meteorological Institute

This event is free of charge.

Registration: In-person participation and abstract submission is open until 25.10.2025. Online participation is open until 4.11.2025.
