Companies in Southwest Finland have the opportunity to benefit from Europe’s most powerful supercomputer
Experts from CSC and Business Finland will present the benefits of supercomputing in RDI work to Finnish companies at the Supercomputing for Business seminar in Turku today. The seminar is attended by 48 RDI participants from companies in Southwest Finland.
EuroHPC LUMI is Europe’s most powerful supercomputer and one of the world’s leading AI platforms. One-fifth of LUMI’s Finnish capacity is available for research and product development by Finnish companies. This computing capacity enables companies to use modern methods such as simulation, artificial intelligence and data analysis.
The CSC and Business Finland will organize seminars across Finland to inform companies about the potential of the supercomputer.
“With the LUMI supercomputer, Finnish companies have a world-class tool for research, development and innovation in high-performance computing. Not everyone is aware of the benefits and opportunities it offers. There are many companies in the Turku region that could use HPC to speed up and improve the efficiency of, for example, the development of artificial intelligence,” says Pekka Uusitalo, Director of CSC.
At the Supercomputing for Business seminar, CSC’s Mikko Kerttula and Rasmus Kronberg will present how the LUMI supercomputer can be used, and how companies can test its suitability free of charge through the Try & Buy project. Business Finland’s Outi Keski-Äijö will talk about financing models, and companies already using LUMI will share their experiences.
