EFP

EuroHPC Federation Platform

The EuroHPC federation platform (EFP) aims to integrate Europe’s supercomputing, quantum systems, and interconnected data infrastructure into a unified and secure environment. Developed by a CSC-led consortium and designed to address diverse user needs, the platform will provide a unified user experience catering to the European public and private users, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

In a scalable and secure manner, EFP will enable federated access and the allocation and management of federated resources including high performance computing, quantum computing and connected data management resources, providing Union-wide services for a wide range of public and industrial users across Europe.

EuroHPC JU’s supercomputers and quantum computers are located in European centers, for example LUMI is located in CSC’s Kajaani data center. Each EuroHPC JU’s computer has a different architecture, and each organisation has their own way to manage users and projects, the EFP will be a critical step to unify the view and use of different EuroHPC systems and their software portfolio and resources. This will boost scientific discoveries and drive the developments of key European efforts such as the quantum programmes and the AI Factories.
