EU’s Digital Education Action Plan must promote interoperability, competence development and ethical use of AI and data in teaching and learning
In its position paper on the review of the EU Digital Education Action Plan, CSC reconfirms its support for the dual mission of the Action Plan of fostering a digital education ecosystem and enhancing digital skills and competences. Going forward, it is particularly important to promote interoperability, ethical use of AI and data as well as competence development.
It is important to recognise the key role of the European Digital Education Hub in advancing interoperability among digitalisation projects. Ethical use of AI and data in teaching and learning must be promoted through further development of related guidelines and through promoting the development of trustworthy AI tools in Europe. Competence development must also remain a priority with increased emphasis on the role of digitalisation and digital research infrastructures as drivers of competence development.
