CSC

At CSC – IT Center for Science, approximately 40 higher education students worked in expert roles at the Espoo and Kajaani offices during summer 2025. The trainees collaborated closely with CSC’s expert teams and were entrusted with tasks that supported their professional development. The summer job provided an opportunity to deepen their skills through practical work and to explore CSC’s diverse operations.

In addition to their work, the trainees took part in the Summer Xperience program, which included shared events, training sessions, and most importantly, opportunities to get to know one another. The program featured a kick-off event, board game and trivia nights, pizza Fridays, and a “Trainee Adventure” checkpoint challenge. A sustainability workshop was also organized for the trainees, offering an opportunity to learn more about CSC’s sustainability efforts and to brainstorm ideas for more responsible ways of working. Weekly shared morning porridges and coffee breaks were also part of the summer routine. The program culminated in a farewell dinner at the end of the summer.

As a trainee, you’re here to learn, so it’s nice that people are really supportive.

Mai Nguyen, AI trainee

Feedback from the Summer Xperience survey highlighted that trainees saw CSC as an open and fair workplace where they received both responsibility and support. Many appreciated the good balance between work and free time, and the program enabled connections across different units. “Everyone has been very welcoming, and I’ve really enjoyed the conversations I’ve had with my colleagues. As a trainee, you’re here to learn, so it’s nice that people are really supportive,” said AI trainee Mai Nguyen.

CSC thanks all summer trainees for their valuable contributions and wishes them success in the future!
