Each year, Universum maps how well-known different employers are among students and professionals, and which organizations are considered ideal workplaces in their respective fields. In the results published on September 15, 2025, CSC emerged as one of the biggest climbers on the list of attractive IT employers.

Among IT students, CSC ranked 23rd, an impressive rise of 12 places compared to last year. The leap was even greater among IT professionals, where CSC climbed 30 places to reach 27th. Making it into the top 30 in both target groups highlights a significant increase in CSC’s visibility and attractiveness as an employer.

“We’re very pleased that both students and experienced IT professionals see CSC as an increasingly appealing employer. In recent years, we’ve invested in collaboration with universities in various ways. We’ve also aimed to offer summer jobs that allow students to apply their studies in real-world settings and gain relevant work experience. Often, a summer job at CSC surprises people by revealing the breadth of our operations. Additionally, we’ve highlighted our employees’ experiences and career stories on social media, showcasing the opportunities for professional development and the diverse career paths available at CSC,” says Hanna Leimola, Director of the People and Culture unit.

CSC’s strong rise among IT professionals is particularly noteworthy. The company offers diverse and meaningful roles, including in AI development, as well as interesting career paths for experts at different stages of their careers.

IT professionals value opportunities for growth

The Universum survey also examined what makes an employer ideal in the eyes of IT professionals. According to the study, the top priorities for IT students in 2025 include opportunities for learning and development, competitive salary, and employee well-being. For IT professionals, the most valued aspects are competitive salary, well-being, and respectful treatment of employees.

“As a non-profit state-owned company, we can’t always compete on salary. However, meaningful work, societal impact, work-life balance, and well-being are often more valuable than a high paycheck. We value how our employees experience CSC as a workplace, and we systematically use their feedback to guide our development efforts,” Leimola adds.
