CSC updates its terms of use and publishes an annex on export controls and sanctions
We have updated the terms of use for our services for research. As part of this update, we have published a separate annex on export controls and sanctions, clarifying the terms related to these aspects.
The updated terms will take effect on 24 June. We have communicated these changes directly to all users of our services for research.
We have enhanced network-level technical monitoring to prevent access to CSC’s computing infrastructures from sanctioned countries.
Additionally, CSC has initiated the facilitation of a network for higher education institutions and research organizations, aiming to foster collaboration on export controls and sanctions while developing shared best practices.
We adhere to the sanctions and regulations imposed by the EU and the Finnish government, updating our service usage restrictions accordingly. Our export control decisions are based on European Council regulations (EU) 2022/328, (EU) 2022/355, and (EU) 2022/350. Finland’s national act on export control for dual-use items came into force in September 2024 (2024/500).
Export control restrictions have been in effect since when we first announced their implementation.
