CSC

Funded by the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), HPCTRAIN aims to strengthen Europe’s digital skills by connecting emerging HPC talent with leading supercomputing centers, research organizations, universities and industry. Over the course of the project, several traineeship opportunities will be offered, giving participants practical experience in professional HPC environments and helping bridge the gap between education and working life.

The programme responds to the growing demand for expertise in HPC, which is increasingly important for research, artificial intelligence, data-intensive computing and innovation across multiple sectors. Through hands-on work, mentoring and international collaboration, trainees gain practical skills and professional networks that support future careers in advanced computing.

As a member of the HPCTRAIN consortium, CSC contributes to the development and implementation of the European traineeship programme by identifying and promoting traineeship opportunities, supporting outreach activities and offering traineeships within the organization. Depending on the position, trainees may contribute to services and projects supporting CSC’s HPC infrastructure, including the LUMI supercomputer hosted by CSC, and other advanced computing services.

Traineeship opportunities at CSC

As part of the HPCTRAIN programme, CSC will offer traineeship opportunities during the project’s four-year duration. New positions will be published at different stages of the programme, providing multiple opportunities to join CSC and gain practical experience in high-performance computing. The first open positions are now published on the programme website.

Interested applicants are encouraged to regularly check the HPCTRAIN initiative’s website for the latest HPCTRAIN traineeship opportunities and application information.
