CSC

New members of the Management Group as of 1 February 2026

Pekka Lehtovuori, Director, Advanced Computing Facility, Operations & Systems
CSC’s scientific computing operations have grown substantially, particularly with the LUMI AI Factory. As a result, the operations will be reorganized. Lehtovuori will lead the unit responsible for national and international computing environments, their development, and collaboration with higher education institutions and research organizations. The unit operates Finland’s national supercomputers, the pan-European LUMI supercomputer, and its future successor, the LUMI-AI supercomputer.

Lehtovuori has worked at CSC since 2001 in expert, managerial, and director roles.

Pekka Manninen, Director, Science and Technology
Pekka Manninen will lead the unit responsible for CSC’s scientific computing customer interface, user support, and service development. The unit also covers the services of the LUMI supercomputer and the LUMI AI Factory.

Manninen has worked at CSC from 2007–2012 and again since 2015 in expert, managerial, and director positions.

Hanna Nordlund, Director, Digital Service Ecosystems for Education
Hanna Nordlund will lead the unit responsible for developing and maintaining digital services for all levels of education and for supporting national and international interoperability between systems and stakeholders. The Digivisio 2030 program office will also be integrated into this unit. Digivisio will continue its role in advancing and shaping Finland’s national digital learning ecosystem, and its integration into CSC’s organizational structure enables even closer collaboration with higher education institutions and other education sector actors. The governance of the Digivisio 2030 program will remain unchanged.

Nordlund has led the Digivisio 2030 program at CSC since 2020.

Other changes in the Management Group as of 1 February 2026

Per Öster, Director, Corporate Development

This includes analyzing the competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and industry trends for the benefit of CSC’s owners and customers.

Hanna-Mari Puuska, Director, Data and Research Information Management Services
Hanna-Mari Puuska will lead a new unit supporting CSC’s customers and users in adopting research information and data management services. The new structure enables CSC to develop and provide services more seamlessly as an integrated portfolio. The work has a strong international dimension through the Finnish EOSC node, EUDAT services and CSC’s EU projects and networks. Puuska previously served in CSC’s Management Group as the Director responsible for digital services for education and research administration.
